Pearl L. Dixon

CHESTERTOWN, MD - Pearl L. Dixon passed away on Mar. 29, 2012 in Chestertown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Chestertown. Pearl was born on Feb. 25, 1921 in Still Pond, daughter of the late John and Cora Doherty Price. She and her husband worked side by side operating a dairy and grain farm. Upon retiring from farming they mowed grass in Kentmore Park. After the sudden death of her husband in 1974, she went to work for the Kent County School system as a custodian for Millington Elementary. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Clarence W. Dixon, Sr.; longtime companion, Oscar Everett, Sr.; brothers, Charlie Price, William Price, Floyd Price, Sr. and John Price, Jr.; a sister, Mary Webb; and a granddaughter, Debra Dixon. Pearl is survived by her children, Clarence W. Dixon, Jr. and his wife Hilda of Middletown, Del., and Cora Jean Jones and her husband Tommy of Chestertown; a brother, Elmer Price, Sr. of Still Pond; a sister, Florence Hague and her companion Barclay Bloomgarden of Chestertown; three grandchildren, Michael Dixon and his wife Barbara, Jeffrey Dixon and his wife Lisa and Paul Burrows and his wife Wendy; five great-grandchildren, Heather Frye and her husband Dave, Chad Dixon, Hunter Dixon, Chase Dixon and Ashley Cornelius; a great-great granddaughter, Samantha Frye. Friends may call on Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where funeral service will be held on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. Burial in Galena Cemetery. www.galenafuneralhomeofsls.com
