Paul Joseph Janiga, 67
Paul Joseph Janiga of Dover passed away suddenly July 11, 2023 at the age of 67. Paul was born May 31, 1956 in Lackawana, NY to the late Arthur E. Janiga and Claire L. Schefter Janiga.
He retired as an environmental engineer for the State of Delaware DNRC Division of Water Resources. Paul was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dover leading the Contemporary Choir as well as being a cantor. He was involved with the Kent County Theatre Guild as well as various theatres in Kent and Sussex counties.
Paul was known as a "foster failure", fostering many canine friends, ending with several adoptions: Sweet Pea, Bailey and Dunkin.
Paul is survived by his brothers, Kevin Janiga, his wife Marcia of West Seneca, NY and William Janiga of Cordova, TN; his niece, Allison Janiga and her fiancé, Jesse Konstabel of Hamburg, NY, his great nephew, Jace and a large extended family.
Friends may call from 5 – 8 with a prayer service at 7 on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover.
A Memorial Mass will be held 10 AM Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, in Dover, DE.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA and to the Holy Cross scholarship fund.
