FELTON - Paul Govoni, of Felton, died Saturday, March 15, 2008. He was 68.
He was born in Duxbury, Mass., to the late Paul P. and Mildred Govoni.
Mr. Govoni was an over the road trucker for the past 33 years.
He had been to every state in the United States, several times, and even into Canada and Mexico.
Mr. Govoni worked for various trucking companies over the years, and almost completed his fourth million-mile certificate.
Most of his time was spent on the road, but when he did have time to spend at home, he enjoyed working on cars, fixing them up and painting them, and working on puzzles.
He collected die-cast cars and tractor trailers, and had quite a collection.
Mr. Govoni will be remembered as a strong willed person, and a good father and husband, and that no matter where he was, he looked forward to coming home.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Travers.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 34 years, Peggy Reed Govoni of Felton; sons, Robert A. Draper of Felton, Paul James Govoni of Elmira, N.Y., and Donald L. McCloskey of Elkton, Md.; daughters, Anne L. Draper of Wilmington, Patricia M. Deputy of Felton, Katrina D. Martin of Harrington, and Paula M. Walker of Hartly; sisters, Pauline A. Bisignano, and Jean Govoni; brothers, Lawrence Govoni, John Govoni and Edwin Govoni; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
