Patrick J. Kane, 85
CLAYTON - Patrick J. Kane of Clayton, formerly of Laurel, Md., and Riverdale, Md., passed away Sunday, June 8, 2008, in his daughter's home with his family by his side. He was 85.
Mr. Kane was born in Washington, D.C., son of the late Frank and Ellen Kane. He was raised in the Georgetown section of Washington.
He was a U.S. Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, serving a tour of duty in Italy.
He was a 30-year Civil Service employee, serving as an inspector for the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1973.
Mr. Kane was an avid golfer, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Theophane "Teddy" Kane.
He is survived by a daughter and a son-in-law, Sharon and William Purdy of Clayton; four grandsons, Neil Little, and his wife, Jaime, Jonathan Purdy, and his wife, Melody, Jeffrey Purdy, and Donald Purdy; and several nieces and nephews, left to cherish his memory.
Services and burial will be private in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, Md.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Griswold Special Care, 1915 Kirkwood Highway, Newark, DE 19711.
