Patricia (Purcell) McGown, 70
LEWES - Patricia (Purcell) McGown, of Lewes, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at her residence, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 70.
Mrs. McGown was born Sept. 26, 1937, in Washington, D.C., daughter of the late James A. and Miriam (Jarnagin) Purcell.
She worked at the Pentagon, in Dallas, Texas, and the former Brooks Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
Mrs. McGown retired from the federal government in 1982 after 22 years of service.
She was a leader of her Bible study fellowship group.
Mrs. McGown loved to crochet and was very fond of her pet schnauzer, Dede.
She was a very loving person who could light up any room she entered.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Mike Sipich.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, David D. McGown Sr.; her son, David D. McGown Jr. of Lewes; her daughter, Debbie DeRossett and her husband Brent of Springfield, Mo.; two grandchildren, Garrett DeRossett and Regan DeRossett; and her brother, James Purcell of Sylvania, Ohio.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call one hour prior.
The Rev. David Monro will officiate.
Final services and interment will take place in Missouri.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
