Paeng Carney, 56
DOVER - Paeng Carney passed away from a long battle with cancer, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Seasons Hospice in Wilmington Hospital. Paeng was born September 15, 1964 in Ubon, Thailand and moved to Delaware with her mother Boon as a young child.
Paeng spent many years working in the restaurant industry and retail until earning her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Delaware State University. She put her degree to use and most enjoyed working/volunteering for The IRS VITA Program with Nehemiah Gateway.
Paeng married the love of her life, Thomas Carney on January 19, 1996 and together they raised three children, Carie, Ashton, and Christopher.
Paeng was an avid reader and could always be found with a book in hand. Paeng also enjoyed cooking, watching movies, the beach, and her favorite thing, naps. She was known for her smile no matter the situation. She was kind, selfless, and you never knew what she might do or say, which always brought a laugh.
She was a longtime member of the Wyoming United Methodist Church.
Paeng is survived by her parents, Nathaniel and Boon Brown of Dover; her husband of 25 years, Thomas P. Carney of Dover; son, Christopher Carney; daughters, Ashton Poblarp and Carie Carney; brothers, Nathaniel Brown and Danny Poblarp; sisters, Andrea Wright and Kathaya Brown; many nieces and nephews; and her favorite four legged son, Patch.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to The Paeng Carney Memorial Scholarship Fund at https://www.gofundme.com/f/paeng-carney-memorial-scholarship-fund
