SMYRNA - Ora V. Stover, of Smyrna, passed away in her home on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008. She was 83. She was born in Beckley, W.Va., the daughter of the late Charles and Martha Arthur. Mrs. Stover was employed as a nursing aide at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill in Smyrna for 29 years. She loved gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Stacy Stover, in addition to four brothers and four sisters. She is survived by two sons, Gary L. Stover Sr., of Southern Pines, N.C., and Wayne D. Stover, of Clayton; two daughters, June Stover, of Smyrna and Sharon Stover, of Clayton; four grandchildren, Gary Stover Jr. of Chesapeake City, Md.; Lori Rader, of Fla., Jeff Stover, of Smyrna and Jennifer Barkhurst of Smyrna; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew Stover and Jillian Stover both of Chesapeake City, Md. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her caregivers. Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 209 Main St., Townsend, where friends may call at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Townsend Cemetery, Townsend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Immanuel United Methodist Church, PO Box 60, Townsend, DE 19734. Arrangements are by Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Smyrna.
