SEAFORD - Ollie Harris Sr. of Seaford died of natural causes on Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at his residence. He was 71.

Ollie was employed for approximately 20 years by the Mundy Co., working as a custodian at the former DuPont Plant (currently Invista) of Seaford.

Even though he was well past retirement age, he was still a productive member of the workforce who enjoyed his job.

Ollie was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. Family was ever so important to him.

In addition to his parents, Bill Harris and Pearl Sullivan, Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Shakia Harris; and his brother, Willie Harris.

He leaves to cherish fond memories his wife of 48 years, Evangelist Mary Lee Harris of Seaford; three sons, Ollie Jr. and his wife Yvette Harris of Petersburg, Va., Warren Lee Harris of Smyrna and Jonathan Allen and his wife Sonya Harris of Seaford; two daughters, Veverly Ann Harris of Dover and Mary Etta Yvette and her husband Joseph Knowles of Blades; six brothers, Curtis and his wife Thelma Harris of Southside Chicago, Quille and his wife Jean Harris of Cartlage, Miss., James and his wife Earlean Harris of Southside Chicago, Joe Hutchins of Leake County, Miss., James Hutchins on Leake County and L.C Hutchins of Leake County; sister-in-law, Doris Harris of Cartlage; four brothers-in-law, George Mann, the Rev. Augustus and his wife First Lady Henrietta Mann, the Rev. Leroy and his wife Winnie Mann of Georgetown and Jerry Mann of Seaford; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six uncles and 11 aunts; three godchildren, Maria Sabb of Georgetown, Judy Hicks of Horntown, Va., and Timmy Sample of Seaford; a very close and devoted friend, Gary Neal, who was as close to him as a brother; and a host of other relatives and friends who will deeply miss him.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the Pentecostal Church of God, Greentop, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

The Rev. Keith Sivels will officiate and the Bishop Hendricks will deliver the eulogy.

Floral deliveries will be accepted from 8:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment will be at Mt. Zion AME Church, Ellendale.

The family will receive family and friends at the Mt. Zion Church Fellowship Hall, immediately after the interment.

Professional services were by Deborah E. Harris-Nock Funeral Services, Greenwood.
