TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Mrs. Olivia Wyche Williams went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016 in Newark. A lifelong Tallahasseean, Mrs. Williams was a retired, self-employed cosmetologist and entrepreneur for over 40 years. A faithful member of Bethel since 1938, she served in numerous capacities, including Choir # 2, the Heritage Choir, the Bethel Chorale and the Julia Morgan Women Missionary Society, to name a few. In 2010, the society was renamed the Margaree Elkins/Olivia Williams Women Missionary Society. A warm, friendly and devoted Christian woman, she was well-known throughout the AME Church at every level. Cherishing her love and legacy are her, dutiful and loving daughter, Marva J. Thomas; caring son-in-law, Dr. Ronald Thomas; loving grandchildren, Ronald L. (Alice) Thomas and Olivia Potter Thomas; and a host of great-grand and foster children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Funeral services are 12 noon Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at Bethel AME Church, Tallahassee, Fla., with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing-visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. today at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE 850-942-1950.
