Oliver William "Bud" Farrow, 72

CAMP HILL, Pa. - Oliver William "Bud" Farrow of Camp Hill passed away Friday, May 25, 2007, in Holy Spirit Hospital. He was 72.

Mr. Farrow was born July 9, 1934, in Richmond, Va., son of the late Oliver William Farrow and Clara Adella Frame.

He grew up in Dover, Del. and graduated from Dover High School. He attended the University of Delaware and received a bachelor"s degree in civil engineering. He then attended the University of Miami and received a bachelor"s degree in mechanical engineering.

After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps serving in the Korean War gaining the rank of staff sergeant. After an honorable discharge he was employed as a professional engineer in many industries with particular expertise in facility operations and new job start-ups with government contracts. After retirement he worked worked as a salesman at Cumberland Valley Motors for 16 years.

Mr. Farrow was an avid hunter and fisherman. He belonged to many organizations and was a member of the Elks Club, American Legion, Enola Sportsman"s Club, Mechanicsburg Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Carlisle Country Club and Naval Officer"s Club.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Robert Farrow; and a sister, Clara Putnam.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Ruth Jackson Farrow; a sister, Mary Evans McDonald of Philadelphia; three step-sons, Robert S. Baney of Bloomsburg, Stephen E. Baney of Mechanicsburg, Roger W. Baney of Bethlehem; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Thursday in Myers Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1517 Cedar Cliff Dr., Camp Hill, PA 17011.
