FREDERICA - Olive C. Austin passed away Sunday April 27 at home. Mrs. Austin was born Jan. 19, 1942 in Englishtown, New Jersey to the late Frank Stanley and Gertrude McKenzie Stanley. She lived most of her life in central New Jersey moving to Delaware in 2007. She was a homemaker and a Deacon at the Spotswood Reformed Church. Mrs. Austin enjoyed bird watching, crocheting and doing puzzles. Mrs. Austin is survived by her husband of 53 years, Howard Austin of Frederica; sons, David Austin and his wife Renee of Spotswood, N.J., Michael Austin and his wife Melissa of Newtown, Pa.; daughter, Deanna Stryker and her husband Rich of Frederica; brothers, Johnny Stanley of Jamesburg, N.J., Louis Stanley and his wife Evelyn of Monroe Twp., N.J.; sister, Fran McElvaine and her husband Bob of, S.C.; grandchildren, Christopher Stryker , Amanda Szymczak and her husband Bernardo, Katrina Custer and her husband Joshua, Nicholas Stryker, Derek Austin and his wife Mary, Dana Austin, Michael Austin, Emily Austin and CJ Austin; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Grace Custer and another great grandson expected in August. Memorial services will be held 12 p.m., Wednesday April 30, 2014, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation 3520 Lake Avenue, Suite #202, Wilmette, IL 60091-1064 or Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
