SELBYVILLE - Odetta I. Hickman of Selbyville passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 4, 2007, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md. She was 87.
Mrs. Hickman was born July 7, 1919, in Bayard, to the late William and Alva (Harper) Lynch.
She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She enjoyed people and lived life to the fullest. She always saw the good in everyone and her home and family were everything to her.
Mrs. Hickman was past president and member of the Selbyville Elks Auxiliary, where she traveled extensively to various conventions.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, William Jearman and Gerald Jearman; and a brother, Louis "Dickie" Lynch.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Reese Hickman; two daughters, Nancy Hall and husband, Russell and Barbara Thomas; nine grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Alice Jearman; a brother-in-law, Larry Hickman; two sisters-in-law, Anna Hickman and Mary Lynch; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Thatcher St., Frankford, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Roxana Cemetery.
Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
