LINCOLN - Newell "Raymond" Farley died peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with Lymphoma on April 10, 2011. He was born in Lincoln on Jan. 12, 1944. As a boy he was active in sports and scouting. After high school he joined the military and became a Navy Seabee. He remained in the construction industry for half a century beginning in Rhode Island, then moving to the San Diego area spending the last 30 years with Melhorn Construction. His 25 year marriage to Barbara Ann Vestri ended with her death from Cancer in the early 90's. They had three sons together. Ray lived a full life enjoying fishing, kayaking, skiing, traveling, dancing, and of course building or remodeling. He is survived by his partner, Johanna Peterson of La Mesa; his sons, Shawn Farley of Keyport, Wash., Nathan Farley of San Diego, Calif., and Michael Farley of Arkansas; a sister, Helen Sullivan of Delmar; and a twin brother, Bob Farley of Lincoln.
