Nettie M. Rogers

MILLSBORO - Nettie M. Rogers, of Millsboro, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012. She was 84. Mrs. Rogers was born on March 12, 1927, to the late Irvin and Elsie Timmons McGinnes. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by her husband, Preston Rogers Sr.; a daughter, Bertha R. Hudson; and two brothers, Irvin and William "Pete" McGinnes; and two sisters, Virginia Pugh and Viola Foskey. Nettie worked for NCR in Millsboro and also worked for the State of Delaware as a cafeteria worker in both East Millsboro Elementary and Millsboro Middle Schools. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Laurel. She loved gardening and yard work, and loved to go places. She was always in a good mood and you could not help but like her. She is survived by one son, Preston Rogers, Jr. and his fiancée Rosalie Sutton of Millsboro; three grandsons, Troy Rogers and his wife Courtney, Shawn Rogers and his wife Jessica and Timmy Rogers and his wife Shari; and 11 great-grandchildren, all of Millsboro. A funeral service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., where friends may call after 11 a.m. Pastor Bob Hudson will officiate. Burial will follow at Millsboro Cemetery, Millsboro. Letters of condolence may be emailed via www.watsonfh.com.
