Nelson B. (Burnie) Rash, 77

FELTON - Nelson B. (Burnie) Rash, of Felton, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, with his family at this side. He was 77. He was born in Smyrna, the son of the late Nelson and Beatrice Green Rash. He retired from the Chrysler Plant in Newark. He served in the National Guard and later was a cook in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Harrington Moose and the Smyrna Clayton Little Lass. He was an avid wrestling fan and sports fan, especially watching his grandchildren. He enjoyed making crafts, going to craft shows, was a great dancer, loved playing slots and playing Pogo on the computer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Cadmas; and first wife, Jacqueline Johnson Rash. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Grace Grogan Rash; children, Debby Lowman of Dover, Louann Truitt and her husband Daniel of Magnolia, Dana Rash of California and April Murray and her husband Brian of Hartly; step-son, Michael Grogan; son-in-law, Dennis Cadmus; grandchildren, Crystal Cox and Michele Campbell, Nicholas Cadmus and his wife Karli, Dustin Cadmus, Brian Murray and Jena Murray; great-grandchildren, Kiera and Aiden Cadmus, Robert Cox, Nathan Cox and Emily Cox and Heather Campbell. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Main St., Felton, where friends may call after noon. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.
