DOVER - Nellie Florence Chandler passed away on June 30, 2022 at home.
Mrs. Chandler was a cook for Kent General Hospital, retiring in 1995 after 16 years of service. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Camden VFW, where, after her retirement, she was a bartender and a cook. She enjoyed watching television and listening to music.
Mrs. Chandler was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Chandler. She is survived by her children: Walter Earl "Johnny" Allman of Washington, Sidney Allman of Harrisonburg, VA, Judy Andrews of Harrisonburg, VA and Jimmy Allman of Dover; her half sister Barbara Keyton Knight of Harrisonburg, VA; seven grandchildren: Tara, Susan, Gary, Alisa, Randy, Danielle and Donna; 17 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; her brother in law David Chandler of Dover; and her best friends that assisted with her caretaking, Terry L. Lentz of Camden and Connie Urian of Magnolia. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Richard Allman.
A Celebration of Life will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2022 at VFW Post #3238, 3238 Old Camden Road, Camden, DE 19934. A committal service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Henlopen Memorial Park, 28787 Lockerman Road, Milton, DE 19968. Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
