MAGNOLIA - Nathaniel Paul Benton of Magnolia, passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 21 on Thursday, July 21, 2016. Nathan was born May 22, 1995 in San Angelo, Texas to Douglas Paul Benton and Gwendolyn Ann Hoskins Benton. Nathan's passion for life impacted all that knew him along with his quick wit and sense of mischievousness. He was developing his love of ATVs and dirt bikes into a thriving business. He was a Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan and loved going to the games. Nathan cared deeply and openly about his friends and family and was deeply loved in return. He always wanted to take care of others and had a positive impact on everyone who knew him. He had a passion for all animals, especially his rescue dogs Duke, Charlee and Clifford. Nate was from an Air Force family and traveled all over the world, moving to Delaware in 2006. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dover. His grandfather, Robert Benton; and uncle, Robert C. Benton preceded him in death. Nate is survived by his parents, Douglas and Gwendolyn Benton of Magnolia; grandparents, Jack and Betsy Hoskins of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; and grandmother, Ruth Benton of Doylestown, Pa.; his godmother and aunt, Lynn Moyer and her sons Jack and Sam; uncles, Timothy Benton (Fran), Kenneth Benton (Linda), Michael Benton (Gina), Stephen Benton (Sharon), Thomas Benton (Melodie); aunts, Patti Benton, Patricia Rickert (Wayne), Eileen Yates (Joseph), Lianne Benton (Lisa), Jennifer Zandier (Craig); and numerous cousins. The family expresses their grateful appreciation for the outpouring of love during this difficult time. A celebration of Nathan's life is scheduled for 1 p.m., Friday, July 29, 2016, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. A visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Torbert Funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday. In memory of Nathan, contributions may be made to the Kent County SPCA, www.fsac-spca.org, and the family requests that you share an adventure with those you love and share the pictures with them. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
