Myrtle Tyndall Mumford, 93 SEAFORD - Myrtle Tyndall Mumford, age 93, of Seaford, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 1, 2009 at Lifecare at Lofland Park in Seaford. She was born in Sycamore, Del., a daughter of the late Albert and Effie Dorman Tyndall. She was a loving homemaker and active church member at Concord United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Past President of the United Methodist Women, and an associate member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Laurel. She was a member of the 1933 Laurel High School graduating class. She was an avid gardener, who loved to cook and can her fruits and vegetables, a past president of The Broadcreek Homemakers club and President of Sussex County Homemakers Club where she held many offices, past president of Delaware Rural Electric Women's Association, and active in the Read-A-Loud program in Delaware. Cherished memories also include her love of quilting, sewing and traveling with her late husband. Mrs. Mumford is survived by her daughter, Connie M. Truitt and husband Craig of Seaford; grandsons, Seth M. and Nathan C. Truitt; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland F. Tyndall, whom passed in Feb. 1995 after 61 years of marriage; her brothers, Granville Tyndall (Bernice), Fred Tyndall (Beatrice), Paul Tyndall (Edna), and Carlton Tyndall (Ada); and sisters, Helen Figgs (Allen). A Funeral Service will be noon Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West Street, Laurel, where a viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. A viewing will also be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The Pastor Diana Melson will officiate. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery Laurel.
