DOTHAN, Ala. - Myron Joseph McWilliams, of Dothan, Ala., passed away suddenly Monday, Oct. 27, 2008. He was the son of the late Clark and May McWilliams of Blades, Del. Mr. McWilliams graduated from Seaford High School and briefly attended the University of Delaware. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during President Dwight D. Eisenhower's term of office, and served as an honor guard for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. After his discharge from the U.S. Air Force, Mac earned a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Virginia at Charlottesville, Va. On a football scholarship at UVA, Mr. McWilliams was a starting tight end. He devoted much of his career to the DuPont Company, working throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. he retired as a human resource manager from DuPont in Aiken, S.C. After retirement, he moved to Dothan, where he met his second wife, Lelia. In addition to his wife, his is survived by a son, Todd McWilliams of New York; a daughter and son-in-law, Rene and David Rosenthal of Pearland, Texas; two brothers, Marvel McWilliams of Dagsboro, Del., and Charles McWilliams of Snow Hill, Md.; and two young grandchildren, Sammy and Maggie Rosenthal. Other survivors include two stepsons, Rick Pierson and Pierson, and several step-grandchildren, all of Dothan. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, in Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Dothan, with burial in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Dothan.
