MSGT Ret. John W. Hillman

BRIDGEVILLE - John W. Hillman passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016. He was born Aug. 7, 1940 in Schenectady, N.Y., to the late John A. and Sarah (Potter) Hillman. He was a retired Master Sergeant and Air Force veteran having served in Vietnam, Germany and many stateside locations. After retiring, he also worked at Conagra, Draper King Cole, and DART Paratransit, from which he also retired. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kathleen McDermott Hillman; his children, John W. Hillman, II, of Milford, Mary M. 'Margie' Hillman, of Frederica, and Shannon Hendershot and her husband, Kevin, of Laurel; his sisters, Susan Troop (Alan), of Deltona, Fla., Louise Sisley (Wayne), of Palmetto, Ga.; brother, James C., of Palmetto, Ga.; four grandchildren, Christina Hillman, Sarah Hillman, Will Hendershot and Kayla Hendershot; and his beloved dogs, Sadie, Taco, Molly and Sandy. Services and interment will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro. Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Milton.
