Milford 'Buck' Meeks Usilton, 90

CENTREVILLE, Md. - Milford "Buck" Meeks Usilton of Centreville passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, in Corsica Hills Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 90.

Mr. Usilton was born June 6, 1917, in Price, to the late Meeks Usilton and Mamie Davis.

Mr. Usilton lived in Queen Anne's County all his life.

He was a farmer and an avid hunter especially for deer and loved to fish.

After retiring from farming, his second passion in life was gardening. Mr. Usilton grew the best tomatoes and lima beans in the county.

His favorite music was country, Hank Williams and Jimmy Davis.

He was predeceased by a son, Milford Meeks Usilton Jr; his first wife, Alice Virginia Lloyd; his second wife, Enid Meeker; a sister, Mary Warner; and three brothers, Archie Usilton, Willard Usilton and Earl Usilton.

He is survived by the love of his life; his son, David L. Usilton and his wife Linda of Centreville; a granddaughter, Mary Lee Usilton of Bridgetown; two grandsons, David Wayne Usilton of Milford, Del., and Logan Thomas Lewis of Centreville; three great-grandchildren, Josh Solomon of Stevensville, Evan Stubbs of Queenstown and Erin Stubbs of Bridgetown; and two sisters, Dot Blackwell of Dl Dorado, Alaska, and Jean Palmer of Dover, Del.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 408 S. Liberty St., Centreville, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Interment will follow at Church Hill Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to Price Bethany Church, P.O. Box 6, Church Hill, MD 21623.
