Mildred Virginia Robinson Truitt

Robinson Truitt, 94 SUDLERSVILLE - Mildred Virginia Robinson Truitt died Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Chester River Hospital in Chestertown, Md. Mildred V. Truitt was born July 20, 1918 in Marydel, Md. the daughter of the late Thomas Earle Robinson and Bertha Geneva (Fogarty) Robinson. Mrs. Truitt was a 1935 graduate of Church Hill High School. She then attended Goldey college for a year. In 1940 she married the late John Spencer Truitt Sr., and the two began their family together. Mrs. Truitt stopped working and stayed at home to raise her family as well as taking on the roll of a farmer's wife. Mrs. Truitt was a member of Calvary Asbury United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing cards, gardening, reading and entertaining family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Spencer Truitt Sr.; two brothers, Paul Robinson and Thomas Robinson and one sister, Margaret Watson. She is survived by her daughter, Joan T. Kirk and husband Willis of Laurel, Del.; one son, John "Jay" Truitt Jr., and wife Judy of Barclay, Md.; one sister, Madeline Dunbar of Chadds Ford, Pa.; one sister- in- law, Mary Robinson of Chestertown, Md.; six grandchildren, Dawn Truitt of Felton, Del., Chris Kirk and wife Sandy of Laurel, Del., Tammy Huth of Havre De Grace, Md., Shawn Truitt of Church Hill, Md., Matthew Kirk and wife Michelle of Laurel, Del., Brian Truitt and wife Shawna of Chestertown, Md.; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; great nieces and great nephews. A graveside service will be held Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Sudlersville Cemetery in Sudlersville, Md. In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to Calvary Asbury United Methodist Church P.O. Box 202 Sudlersville, MD 21668.
