Mildred M. Cain

GREENWOOD - Mildred M. Cain, of Greenwood, died Fri., Dec. 10, 2010, at Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 84. Mildred was born August 29, 1926, in Hickman, Del., to David R. and Annie Lucas Messick. Mildred graduated from Greenwood HS with the Class of 1944. Mildred was a member of the Greenwood UMC. Mildred was a wonderful and easy going person, and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved to spend time with her family. She enjoyed going on vacation at the beach, going out to dinner and shopping. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Noah; two sons Richard and Ronnie; three brothers; and one sister. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Henry of Bridgeville, and Linda Jones of Greenwood; five grandchildren, Michael Henry of New Castle, Trisha Herglotz of Dover, Matthew Jones of Greenwood, Zachary and Molly Cain of Seaford; four great-grandchildren, Jordan and David Elliott, Alexi and Claudia Henry; one brother, James Messick of Milton; one sister, Shirley Rothermel of Milford; and a cousin who was like a daughter, Gail Spedden of Boothwyn, Pa. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tues., Dec. 14, 2010, at the Greenwood UMC, where friends may call one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be held at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington. Arrangements by Fleischauer Funeral Home, Greenwood.
