Mildred J. Zacovic, 90

CHESAPEAKE CITY, Md. - Mildred J. Zacovic of Chesapeake City died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, in her home. She was 90.

Mrs. Zacovic was born on Aug. 17, 1917, in Connellsville, Pa., daughter of the late Jesse and Carrie Hough Graft.

While living in Wilmington, she was active with the Girl Scouts and was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

In 1961 she and her husband moved to Chesapeake City where they enjoyed retirement.

Mrs. Zacovic was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James J. Zacovic in 2002; her daughter, Linda Zacovic; a brother, Robert Graft; and sister Sarah Mervis.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Peters and her husband Don of Loudon, Tenn.; a brother, Donald Graft of Ft. Myers, Fla; six grandchildren, William, Carl, Mark and James Peters, Richard 'Dick' Martin, of Newark, Del., and Debbie Guelette of Hartley, Del.; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, where friends may call after 1 p.m.

Burial in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Earleville.

Memorials may be offered to Northern Chesapeake Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 2332, Elkton, MD 21922.
