Michael 'Mike' Yeako Jr., 84

LONG NECK - Michael "Mike" Yeako Jr. of Long Neck, formerly of Greenwood, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, at Lewes Convalescent Center. He was 84.

Mr. Yeako was born Nov. 4, 1923, in Bridgeville, to the late Michael Sr. and Antoinette Bassette Yeako.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 78 Division, Field Artillery Battalion, 309 A Battery.

Mr. Yeako worked for O.A. Newton & Sons, Bridgeville, as an appliance serviceman for 45 years, retiring in 1985.

He enjoyed fishing, crabbing and doing leather crafting.

Mr. Yeako was a life member of the Greenwood Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7478.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gladys Mae Williamson Yeako; two children and their spouses, Bonnie Mae and Terry Freer of Bradenton, Fla., and Jimmy W. and Martie Yeako of Long Neck; four grandchildren, Patricia, Michelle, Sherri and Terry Lee Jr.; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Louis Yeako of Winter

Haven, Fla.; and a sister, Mary Morris of Seaford.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Fleischauer Funeral Home, 48 W. Market St., Greenwood, where friends may call one hour prior.

Interment will be at St. Johnstown Cemetery, Greenwood.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greenwood VFW Post 7478, P.O. Box 314, Greenwood, DE 19950.

Harry J. Walls, 48

OCEAN VIEW - Harry J. Walls of Ocean View, formerly of Aston, Pa., died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore. He was 48.

Mr. Walls was born in Media, Pa., son of Margaret (Durnan) Walls and the late Francis J. Walls.

He was a physical therapist.

Harry is survived by his wife, Doreen Ellen (Schlater) Walls; his mother, Margaret Walls; two sons, Ian and Samuel; two daughters, Phoebe and Kerinne; q brother, Francis Walls and his wife Patti; a sister, Patricia Barr and her husband Chris; and his nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Bethany chapel of Melson Funeral Services, West Avenue, Ocean View. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Bethany Beach, where friends may call after 10 a.m.

Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Dagsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Harry's memory to the Educational Fund for the Walls Children, c/o Delaware National Bank, Del. 26, Ocean View, DE 19970.
