Meta J. Klein

DOVER - Meta J. Klein passed away Friday, July 1, 2011, at Green Meadows Assisted Living. She was 91. Meta was born on Aug. 31, 1919, in Bramsche, Germany, daughter of the late Karl and Anna (Eggemann) Oehne. She had worked as a school aide. Meta enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, doing needlework, and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the AFSCME DC 37, Consumers Union of N.Y., Cub Scouts, and PTA. Meta was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Klein; a sister, Anneliese Pape; and a son, Frank W. Klein. She is survived by a son, William M. Klein and his wife Barbara of Magnolia; half brother, William Oehne of Long Island, N.Y.; half sister, Judith Oehne of New Jersey; daughter-in-law, Johanna Klein of Lindenhurst, New York; five grandchildren, Lisa Anne Morris, Frank J. Klein, Michael L. Klein, Christopher M. Klein, and Jennifer L. Klein; and six great-grandchildren. There will be a gathering of remembrance from 6 to 8 p.m.. Friday, July 8, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association, 200 Continental Dr., Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713.
