Melissa VanderHoeven, 34

GALESTOWN, MD - Melissa VanderHoeven, also of Laurel, passed away in her home Monday, March 30, 2009. She was 34. She was born in Seaford, a daughter of Calvin Meekins of Galestown, and Karen Meekins of Bridgeville. Melissa was self employed and worked very hard at her career. Her greatest pride was her children and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny VanderHoeven Sr.; and a daughter, Amanda VanderHoeven. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her children, Kenneth VanderHoeven Jr. and Cassidy VanderHoeven; her sisters, Donna Robles and Holly Meekins; a mother-in-law, Lucille VanderHoeven; a sister-in-law, Kat Capone; a special friend, Doug Case of Galestown; along with many friends and extended family. All services will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to the Kenneth and Cassidy VanderHoeven Fund, c/o County Bank, 1122 S. Central Ave., Laurel, DE 19956. The Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home of Laurel is serving the VanderHoeven family.
