FREDERICA - Max "Tommy" Collier, of Frederica, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was 49. Tommy was born March 13, 1962, in Dover, to the Robert Lee Collier, Jr. and the late Ruth Dawn Hollinger Burnette. He had been a waterman his whole life; he worked in every facet of the profession. Tommy loved NASCAR, especially car #11, Denny Hamlin. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Mullins; brother, Robert L. Collier, III; and uncles, William Burke, Ray Price, and James Hollinger. He is survived by his father, Robert L. Collier, Jr. of North Carolina; son, John Williams; brother, Michael Collier of Frederica; sister, Sharon Roberts of Frederica; his finance, Joy Wahl and her children. Celebration of Tommy's Life will be 1 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2011, at North Bowers Beach Fire Company, 3285 Main Street, Frederica, DE 19946. Letters of condolences may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
