Matthew Paul Gannon

DOVER - Matthew Paul Gannon passed away Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017 at Kent General Hospital.
Matt was born Sept. 6, 1963 in Milford, to the late Louis A. Gannon and Marie Murphy Gannon. He had attended Milford High School.
He worked as a carpenter doing trim and finish work. Matt was very athletic, playing baseball in high school and was a catcher for Little League and made all stars every year. He had a good sense of humor loved joking and pranking. Matt was a Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Gannon.
He is survived by his son, Matthew P. Gannon, Jr.; sisters, Patrice Gannon Teed of Bridgeville, Julie L. Gannon of Florida and Carol Schaap of Milford; many nieces, nephews and a special nephew Brandon Whitmore.
Memorial services will be held 12 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018 at People Church, 46 S. Bradford Street, Dover, DE 19904.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Code Purple Kent County, 412 N. Governors Ave. Dover, DE 19904.
