Master Sargent Owen W. Foster (Retired)

MILFORD - Owen W. Foster, Master Sargent (Retired) passed away Jan. 8, 2016 at the Veterans Home in Milford where he was a resident. He was born Nov. 17, 1926 in Brookville, (Ont.) Canada, the son of the late Margaret and Ralph Foster. In 1949 Owen made the decision to go to Watertown, NH and join the United States Air Force. He proudly served his country for 23 years. In 1974 he retired as a Master Sargent. Among his many assignments was one tour in Vietnam. He was a Flight Engineer on the KC 97 and the 133. After retirement he worked for the Port of Wilmington docks for 5 years. His favorite past time was building model airplanes and trains. He is survived by his daughter, Diane (Ben) of Ekhammer Aiea, HI; two sons, Bill of Kenton and Ed of Milford; Sister, Margaret Croft of Brookville, (Ont.) Canada; grandchildren, David, Tyron, Jason, Tara & Nia; his great- grandchildren also survive. Nieces, nephews and his long time companion, Betty Maine of Dover will miss him. Services with full military honors will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, 2 p.m. at the Delaware Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Bear. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at the Veterans Home for their kindness and compassionate care to Owen during his stay with them. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Delaware Veterans Home or to the Alzheimer's Association. Letters of condolence may be offered at www.pippinfuneralhome.com
