Mary Sue Thawley, 83
Mary Sue Thawley peacefully passed away April 13, 2020, from Alzheimer's disease and complications from Covid-19.
Mary Sue was a lifelong Delaware native who was always active in her church and community. In addition to raising four children, she worked full-time as secretary to the Chaplain at the Wesley College Council of Churches before moving to the Caesar Rodney District office. Throughout the years, she formed lifelong friendships which she nurtured and cherished throughout her entire life.
Family and friends were always Mary Sue's priority. She was known for her welcoming smile, great sense of humor, kindness towards others, and overall love of life. Mary Sue especially loved her home, little children, and her sweet Yorkie, Muffin. Her absence leaves an empty space in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Sadly, she was preceded in death by two sons, Clarence (Chick) Thompson Jr. and Daniel (Danny) Thompson.
Mary Sue is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Thompson and son in law Brian of Henderson, NV; son, David Thompson, his wife Terri of Magnolia and their family; in addition, by deceased son Daniel's children and grandchildren.
Suzanne and Brian invite you to join them at a Graveside Memorial Service for Mary Sue at Barratt's Chapel, Friday, May 5, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association. (800-272-3900) https://act.alz.org.donate
Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
