Mary Lou Tidwell, 77

GEORGETOWN -- Mary Lou Tidwell, age 77, of Georgetown, passed away in her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008. Mrs. Tidwell was born in Paris, Ill., daughter of the late Emmor (John) F. and Etta Mae (Hanna) Turner. Mary Lou was a homemaker, loved to read, travel and take care of her family. She was a member of the Georgetown Presbyterian Church serving as Clerk of Session for several years and enjoyed singing in the choir. In addition to her parents, a sister, Linda Turner and brother, Johnny Turner, precede her in death. She is survived by her husband of 58 years: George W. Tidwell; four children: G. Thomas Tidwell and partner Earl Massey of Lewes, Steve Tidwell of Georgetown and girlfriend Connie Willoughby of Milton, Susan Reynolds and husband Ed, also of Georgetown and Mark Tidwell and wife Julie of Bethesda, MD; two sisters: Jane Pusey and husband Paul of Georgetown and Ruth Donovan and husband David of Milford; two brothers: Jerry Turner of Clifornia and Jimmy Turner and wife Loretta of Florida; two grandchildren: Shawn Tidwell and wife Katie, and Nicole Reynolds; and two great-grandchildren: Lane and Harley Tidwell. A funeral service will be today at 1 p.m. at the Georgetown Presbyterian Church, 203 N. Bedford St., Georgetown, DE 19947, where friends may call after noon. Entombment will immediately follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church in honor of Mrs. Tidwell. Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
