Mary Lou Nicholson

DOVER - Mary Lou Nicholson passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 at Kent General Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on February 1, 1927 in Dover, Del to William and Mae Willis. Mary Lou was a loving family oriented woman, who relished her role as wife and mother. She enjoyed reading and cooking. She loved to watch NASCAR with her daughter, Diane, and watching baseball with her family. She also loved to spend quality time shopping. She most especially enjoyed just spending her time at home with her beloved family, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. Mary Lou was a proud and happy homemaker, mother, and wife. She is deeply missed by all who knew her. Mary Lou is predeceased by her daughter, Diane Lyne Nicholson; her sister, Beatrice Opdyke; and her brother, Dawson Willis. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, George Nicholson; a daughter, Lisa L. Sitko and her husband, Barry, of Milford, Del.; and her sister, Dorothy L. Hite of Long Beach, Calif.; as well as a host of family and friends. A service for Mary Lou will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 with a viewing from noon to 1 p.m, with services starting promptly at 1 p.m. at the Pippin Funeral Home in Wyoming, DE. Burial will follow at Sharon Hills Memorial Park in Dover. Letters of condolence may be sent via http://www.pippinfuneralhome.com/.
