Mary Joanne Bostic

SUDLERSVILLE - Mary Joanne Bostic died Sunday, May 26, 2013 in Chester River Hospital Center in Chestertown, Md. Born Jan. 1, 1938 in Easton, Md., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Minner Smith. Mrs. Bostic was preceded in death by her late husband, Kennard J. Bostic and beloved dog, Ruby. She was a graduate of Sudlersville High School in 1956 and a graduate of Western Maryland College. She was a school teacher and taught at Centreville High School, Centreville Elementary School and Sudlersville Middle School. Mrs. Bostic was a member of Calvary Asbury United Methodist Church, Sudlersville, where she sang in the choir for many years. She was the treasurer for Sudlersville High School Alumni Association and a member of the Queen Anne's County Retired Teachers Association. Her interests included singing, sewing, making jewelry and teaching children. Mrs. Bostic is survived by two daughters, Laura Bosic-Davidson and husband Barry, Luanne Coleman and husband Reese, both of Sudlersville, Md.; a sister, Katherine Ellen Liskow and husband Nelson of Colorado; four grandchildren, Katherine Elburn, Lauralye Elburn, Colleen Coleman, and Zoe Coleman; special nephews, Timmy, Dale and Randy Rash and a special niece, Marty Freeman. A graveside service will be held Sunday, June 2, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Sudlersville Cemetery in Sudlersville, Md. In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to Calvary Asbury United Methodist Church P.O.Box 202 Sudlersville, MD 21668. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.fhnfuneralhome.com.
