Mary Jane (Speicher) Messick, 81
MILFORD - Mary Jane (Speicher) Messick of Milford died Wednesday, July 4, 2007, in Kent General Hospital, Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover. She was 81.
Mrs. Messick was born Sept. 29, 1925, in Mifflin County, Pa., the daughter of the late Emmanuel and Catharine (Zook) Speicher.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Messick worked in the 1960s at the Mulholland Spoon Mill in Milford and then at Milford Memorial Hospital as a central supply technician.
She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Mrs. Messick loved spending time with her grandchildren and especially enjoyed watching the NASCAR races because her grandson Bucky works for Michael Waltrip Racing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Messick Sr.; a son, Joseph H. Messick Jr.; and a brother, Joseph Z. Speicher.
She is survived by two daughters, Henrietta Gingerich Weader of Bridgeville, and Catherine Messick Coulbourne and her husband Gary of Milford; her grandchildren, Catharine Keister and her husband Gary of Middleburg, Pa., Jane Smoker of Greenwood, Michael Duncan and his wife Selina of Beaver Springs, Pa., Reed Duncan of Beaver Springs, Pa., Dawn Stevens of Milford, Bucky Stevens and his wife Michelle of Statesville, N.C., and Kim Coulbourne and Ellen Coulbourne, both of Milford; a sister, Elizabeth Parker of Middleburg; a brother, Jacob Speicher and his wife Doris, of Felton; seven great-grandchildren; and many friends a the Cheer Apartment Complex, Georgetown.
Friends may call on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford. Graveside services will follow in Milford Community Cemetery, U.S. 113, Milford.
