Mary Elisabeth Jopp

Mary Elisabeth Jopp, 88 GREENSBORO, Md. - Mary Elisabeth Jopp, 88, of Greensboro, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, in Caroline Nursing Home, Denton. She was born Jan. 25, 1922, in Greensboro, to the late William Raymond Bennett, Sr. and Audrey Shields Bennett. Mrs. Jopp graduated from Greensboro School in 1938. Mrs. Jopp went on to work on the W.Y.A. in Denton, Greensboro Glove Factory, Greensboro Pet Milk Plant and DuPont in Seaford, Del. She was in the WIPS (Women in Productive Service) during the war. Mrs. Jopp was a member of Greensboro Baptist Church and a Joy member. She loved to crochet, sew, doing crafts, poetry and all her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, and stories. She is survived by two sons, Darryl B. Jopp and wife Joyce of Milford, Del., Randy K. Jopp and wife Suzanne of Greensboro; six grandchildren, Bennett Jopp, Amy Woodward, Kevin Jopp, Brandon Jopp, Sara Emily Jopp, and Amanda Marie Jopp; ten great-grandchildren, Zachary Jopp, Mallary Jopp, Nathan Jopp, Kody Jopp, Robby Jopp, Chase Jopp, Gracie Jopp, Brandon Jopp, Jr., Weston Jopp, and Emily Woodward; one sister, Betty Lee Bennett Bayne of Greensboro; beloved nieces, nephews; and sister-in-law, Connie Bennett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, George H. Jopp; brother, William Raymond Bennett, Jr.; and sister, Ellen Jane Bennett Haddaway. Services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 23, at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, PA, 106 W. Sunset Ave., Greensboro, where a visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment will be in Greensboro Cemetery, Greensboro.
