CLAYTON - Mary E. Nichols of Clayton, Del., passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del. Mrs. Nichols was born June 19, 1929 in Dover, Del. She worked for many years with her husband as an Appliance Store Owner in Miami, Fla., before moving to Clayton. Mrs. Nichols was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Smyrna, Del., and enjoyed volunteering her time for the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill gift shop in Smyrna. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Trigo and Debbie Nichols. She is survived by her husband, Robert N. Nichols; her son Larry Lavender; and six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street Smyrna, DE, where friends and family may call one hour before the services.
