BETHANY BEACH - Mary Catherine "Katie" (Larson) Peterson passed away in Delaware Hospice Center, Milford on Feb. 10, 2018 after a long battle with diabetes and heart disease.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert F. and Mary C. Larson of Lanham, Md.; and her husband, Pete Peterson.
Mary is survived by son, Eric S. Peterson and his wife Lorie; four grandchildren; brother, Hugh Larson; sisters, Barbara Villari, Ann Clogg, Joan Gillett and their spouses and families, including many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Charles Peterson and his wife Colleen and their family; her companion of many years Gene Kenton and his family; a daughter, Sherri McLaughlin and her three children; sisters, Janet Swain, Elsie Kenton and Helena Pepper and her husband Dean; brother, Bill Kenton and his wife Duane and their families.
She was a strong willed person who could turn some of life's hardest moments into humor. She had a great love of nature and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 in the Ocean View Chapel of Melson's Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, where friends may call after 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays, 39375 Inlet Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971 or at www.inlandbays.com.
