Mary Castilgia DeVary, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, born on March 12, 1927, was called home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2020.
A native of Brooklyn, NY and a resident of Dover, DE. She is survived by her five children: Patricia Gail Donovan (Michael), Bill Henry DeVary, Stephen DeVary (Sandy), John Matthew DeVary (Anita), and Deborah Ann Pearce (Warren); eleven grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John DeVary (1995), parents Anthony and Josephine Castilgia, two sisters, three brothers, and a granddaughter.
Mary was a homemaker and a great cook. She loved her family and brought so much joy and entertainment wherever she went. Her famous saying in all her cards and letters were "Smile Jesus Loves You and So Do I." Mary loved the Lord, was faithful in reading her Bible, and praying. She loved to sing, especially in the Church Choir. One of her favorite songs, that she last heard before her passing, was Going Home by Bill and Gloria Gaither. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Family visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. and friends are invited to attend the visitation from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, Dec 28, 2020 at Calvary Church, 1141 E. Lebanon Rd, Dover, DE. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, 2928 Sharon Hill Rd, Dover, DE.
