FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Mary Betty (Benson) Peterman, age 74, formerly of Lincoln, died on May 3, 2011, in Ft. Lauderdale, surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle against cancer. She was born on May 23, 1936, to Elmer and Minnie (Reed) Benson. She was employed by the Social Security Administration, retiring in 1995. She got her greatest enjoyment from her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Leonard, Russell, Ralph Benson and Dorothy Rust. She is survived by her children, Gerald and his wife Sara, Glenda Thompson and her husband Jon, Glenn and his wife Pam; grandchildren, Zach, Lauren and Brett Peterman; her sisters, Louise Webb and Pearl Wadkins; and several nieces and nephews. Services were private.
