BARCLAY, Md. - Mary Ann Coursey Casey, of Barclay, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at her home in Barclay, Md. She was 83. Mary Ann Coursey Casey was born May 30, 1928, in Barclay, Md., the daughter of the late Charles Elwood Coursey and Eva "Skinner." Mrs. Casey was a 1947 graduate of Sudlersville High School. She went to work at Woolworth in Dover, for several years and then went to work for Playtex also in Delaware. In August of 1949 she married John D. Casey and the two were married for 53 years. After staying home for several years to raise her family she went back to work in 1975 for the Queen Anne's County Board of Education working in food service in Sudlersville Elementary school and then moving to Church Hill Elementary school. She retired in 1992. After retiring, she continued to work in cafeterias until 2003. Mrs. Casey enjoyed cooking, taking care of people, traveling in her later years, shopping, watching Go Kart racing, and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Roxanne Casey; two brothers, Charles Coursey, Francis Coursey; and her best friend, Mary Beth Maule. She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Casey Osborn and husband David of Barclay, Md., Penny Lynn Casey Urie and husband Kevin of Millington, Md.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Osborn Rhode and her husband Brian of Millington, Md., David Michael Osborn, Jr and wife Michelle of Church Hill, Md., Stephanie Michelle Urie of Millington, Md., Jessica Rae Urie of Millington, Md.; and five great-grandchildren, Jason Craig Rhode, Hayden Marie Rhode, Jesse James Osborn, Landen Michael Osborn, and Kacie Renee Osborn; and her nephew, Butch Coursey and wife Sally of Church Hill, Md. A visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 Cypress St., Millington, Md. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service. Services will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Sudlersville Cemetery in Sudlersville, Md., following the service.
