Marvin A. Davis Jr., 67

DOVER - Marvin A. Davis Jr., of Dover, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2008. He was 67.

Marvin was born Dec. 13, 1940, in Smyrna.

He was working as an equipment operator.

Marvin loved country western music, playing the guitar and was an avid NASCAR fan.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Marie (Clough) Davis; and a sister, Nancy Ayers.

Marvin is survived by his father, Marvin Davis Sr. of Centreville, Md.; four sons, Marvin Davis III and his wife Cynthia of Magnolia, Gregory Davis of Dover, Bryon Davis and his wife Dawn of Magnolia and Melvin Davis of Hartly; eight daughters, Joanne Davis of Laurel, Valerie Suddock and her husband Barney of Kansas, Brenda Thompson and her husband Clevon of Dover, Lori Miller and her husband Paul of Felton, Marlin Swartzentruber and her husband Enos of Dover, Sherry Davis of Dover, Marlene Griffin of Hartly and Mary Ann Davis of Hartly; a sister, Elizabeth Comegys and her husband Paul of Dover; 37 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
