Martine Ann Garland, 46

SEAFORD - Martine Ann Garland of Seaford passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. She was 46.

Martine was born June 8, 1960, in Germany, daughter of Andree Colavecchio and the late Max Parsons.

Along with her family, she owned and managed The Dugout restaurant and lounge in Seaford for the past 16 years.

Martine was an active member of the Seaford Chamber of Commerce and SCORE.

She was a breeder of Maltese dogs and loved all animals. She got satisfaction from feeding and caring for the many stray dogs and cats that would show up at her doorstep.

Martine had a kind and gentle spirit, and everyone who knew her loved her.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Garland; a son, Brandon Valliere; a brother, Alan Parsons; a sister, Debra Whitcraft; and five nieces and nephews, Jonathan, Matthew, Amy, Alex and Hailey.

A funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove St., Delmar, where family and friends may call from 2 to 3. The Rev. Sam McWilliams will officiate.
