Martha S. Jones, 90

DOVER - Martha S. Jones of Dover passed away on Friday, June 15, 2007, in her residence at State Street Assisted Living after a long illness. She was 90.

Mrs. Jones was born in Clayton, the daughter of the late George Gilder Saxton and Lillian Knight Saxton on June 30, 1916.

Mrs. Jones retired from Suburban Propane Gas Co. after many years of service.

She enjoyed playing bingo and bowling and bowled with some of the local traveling teams.

She also was a volunteer at Luther Towers during her residency there.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Jones in 1996; a sister, Mary Emily Hughes in 1955; a brother, George G. Saxton in 1948; and a niece, Judith Stachecki in 2003.

Mrs. Jones is survived by a niece, Georgia Lee DeMarie of Ocean View; a nephew, Herbert Hughes and his wife, Nancy of Dover; two stepdaughters, Donna Lincks of Bradenton, Fla. and Gail Burnham of Palmetto, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews in addition to many friends.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, in Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call one hour before services. The Rev. Daniel Griggs of the People"s Church of Dover will officiate.

Interment will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
