Martha Lee Mahrenholz

DOVER - Martha Lee Mahrenholz passed away Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016 at Kent General Hospital. Mrs. Mahrenholz was born Jan. 26, 1930 to the late William E. Schmitt and Rachel Scherbaum Schmitt in Cincinnati, Ohio, but grew up in Santa Claus, Ind. She had worked for Ettengers Shoe Store for 20 years as a sales clerk and 16 years at Kent General Hospital for the Junior Board. Mrs. Mahreholz was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Dover and had worked in the clothing closet for 20 years. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, vegetable and flower gardening, and especially spending time with her family. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Curtis, 2010. She is survived by her sons, Scott A. Mahrenholz and wife Katherine of Virginia Beach and Todd I. Mahrenholz and his fiancé Emy Znou of Dover; grandchildren, Andrew C. Mahrenholz, Candice Gilman and her husband Ben, Andrea Mahrenholz; great-grandchildren, Kayla Rae and Abigail; and her dear friend, Sigrid Mills. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to a charity of your choice.
