Martha Jean Cockrill

MILLINGTON, MD - Martha Jean Cockrill, 'Ginger' passed away on September 17, 2014 at U of M Shore Medical Center, Chestertown. Ginger was born on December 4, 1939 in Church Hill, daughter of the late William and Violet Smith Stubbs. She helped her former husband, William Simpler with their business in Millington and also raised their three children. They divorced after 33 years of marriage. She later married Charles Cockrill where they lived in Millington. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, Charles Cockrill in 2008 and her two sons, William Simpler, III and Joseph T. Simpler, Sr. Ginger is survived by her daughter, Crystal Rodriguez (Angel Luis) with whom she lived; two sisters, Nancy Clark and Joan Hales both of Salisbury, Md..; two brothers, William Stubbs of Centreville, Md. and Randy Stubbs of Millington; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 26 at 12 noon in Sudlersville Cemetery, Sudlersville, Md. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to the American Kidney Foundation, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD. 20852 Arrangements by Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L.
