Martha Elizabeth Armstrong, 90
FELTON - Martha Elizabeth Armstrong of Felton died Tuesday, July 3, 2007, in her home. She was 90.
Mrs. Armstrong was born July 1, 1917, in Denton, Md., to the late Francis A. and Josephine L. (Eaton) DeFord.
She was postmaster in Cheswold from 1957 to 1977, when she retired.
Mrs. Armstrong was a member of Cheswold United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of Cheswold Ladies Auxiliary Fire Co.
Her husband, Arthur Armstrong, died in 1986.
She is survived by her daughter, Wilma A. Carey of Felton and her husband Howard; a son, A. Larry Armstrong of Smyrna and his wife Helen; 10 grandchildren, Elizabeth Pryor and her husband Steve, H. David Carey, Christina Hawkins and her husband Mike, Brian Carey and his wife Jennifer, Mary Margaret Marunowski and her husband Greg, Kimberly Dillon and her husband Chris, A. Larry Armstrong Jr., Anna Stoops and her husband Kenny, Helen Laurie Furber and her husband Jim, and John Arthur Armstrong and his wife Jessica; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover. On Monday, friends may call at 10 a.m. and funeral services will be at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Cheswold United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 191, Cheswold, DE 19936.
