DOVER - Marjorie S. Martin, died Friday, July 28, 2012, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, Delaware. Mrs. Martin was born on October 28, 1932 in Wyoming, Del. to the late John Edward and Bertie Young Sapp. She was a professional secretary and a U.S. Embassy Correspondent in Taipei and Yemen both for the United States government for 31 years retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover and taught Sunday School, was a member of the choir, and the Methodist Youth Fellowship. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Martin in 1984. She is survived by four sons, Lewis Everett Martin of Charlotte, N.C., John Edward Martin and his wife Rebecca of Dover, Donald Renie Martin and his wife Jodi, of Tampa, Fla., and Timothy Paul Martin and his wife Melissa, of Bulverde, Texas; a sister, Martha Brerton and her husband Bill of Milford; and five grandchildren, Landon Martin, Jason Edward Martin, Libby Soleil Monahan, Cody Martin, Nicolas Martin, and Josh Martin. Special thanks to all beloved church friends and family who have spent time with her and supported her when she could no longer care for them. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 209 State Street, Dover, DE 19901, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica Delaware. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to the Wesley United Methodist Church or the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
