
Marina Rogin, 87
Marina Rogin of Dover, Delaware, passed away at home on October 29, 2022.
She was born in Buchans, Newfoundland, one of 12 siblings. At 14, she went to work in the city of St John's, Newfoundland and later met her future husband, James L. Knipe. They married in 1952, traveled the globe via the Air Force, and raised four children. The family settled in Dover in 1967, and Marina became well-known in the local theater community for her creative costuming, detailed stage dressing, and fun parties.
After the death of her first husband, she met and married James Rogin. Compatible from day one, they shared an interest in the arts and co-founded The Children's Theater, Inc., producing dozens of plays through the years. Although Marina became a U.S. citizen early in life, she maintained a deep love of Newfoundland and traveled there often. Strong, generous, and fun-loving, Marina was a talented artist and an amazing cook. Most of all, she loved a good time with family and friends!
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by first husband, James Knipe; and her sons, Dirk Knipe and Joseph Scott Knipe.
Marina is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, James Rogin; her daughters, Sherry Pisacano and Dawn Knipe; her husband's children, John Rogin, James Rogin, and Kathy Melvin; her siblings, Janet Suykens, Loretta Uens, Jim Jackson, Violet Coish, Pearl Bishop, Betty Case, Gail Davis, and Dale Jackson; her grandchildren, Dan Reddy, Angelique Knipe-Claessen, Aaron Knipe, Jason Knipe, Alec Knipe, and Trisha Butler; and ten great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 6 p.m., Friday, November 4, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Delaware. Friends may visit one hour prior.
