Marilyn J. Tuxward, 70
DOVER - Marilyn J. Tuxward of Dover died Friday, Nov. 3, 2006, in her home, surrounded by her family. She was 70.
Mrs. Tuxward was born Dec. 20, 1935, in Cambridge, Md., daughter of the late C. Bradley and Blanche (Phillips) Steele.
She was a 1953 graduate of Felton High School.
Mrs. Tuxward was employed with Playtex from 1953 to 1955, during which time she married Howard Tuxward on Aug. 21, 1955. In 1958, she became the executive secretary of state communications for the State of Delaware. She retired in 1986, after 27 years of service.
She was an outdoors girl, who enjoyed horseback riding, working on the farm, going to the beach and sailing.
Mrs. Tuxward was a member of the Frazier Homemakers Club of Woodside.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Howard V. Tuxward, in 1983.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Tuxward of Dover; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeffrey D. Tuxward of Hartly, John W. and Carol Tuxward of Camden and Brian L. Tuxward of Hartly; three daughters, Hope A. Brown of Hartly and Joyce Tuxward and Jacqueline Tuxward, both of Dover; 13 grandchildren, Rob Tuxward and his wife, Kristy, Zane Tuxward and his fiance, Autumn, Brad Tuxward and his wife, Kiley, Eli Tuxward, Linda Brown, Stephanie Tuxward, Michael Tuxward, Rebecca Parker, Kyle Tuxward, Brian Tuxward Jr., Michael Brown, Jeffrey Tuxward and Donald Caulk Jr.; six great-grandchildren, Lillee, Meredith, Adam, Gracie, Brady and Graham; a sister and a brother-in-law, Virginia Steele and Robert Drabbant of Felton; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bradley and Phyllis Steele of Hartly and Richard Steele of Felton; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Trader Funeral Home, Dover, where services will begin at 6:30.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Sharon Hill Memorial Cemetery, Dover.
